TODAY I WENT TO FOOTBALL

Today I went to football,
And I actually played good.
But, some of us played poor,
And we couldn't score,
To save our lives.
Some just were not fit,
Matthew forgot his kit.
So, he played in goalNAKED!
We're not brilliant!
We're not committed!
Though we're entertaining.

Michael Reeve (age 11), Hull

"This made me laugh out loud. Although the first line is redundant, the language is perfect for the subject; at the word "naked" a very ordinary event becomes surreal. (Get your kit off Barthez)"

C.A.Coiffait
