Learning
Innovative schemes to promote learning are continuing to benefit Hull. The local education authority, in partnership with the private sector, introduced the UK's first children's university with the aim of raising literacy standards.

Next came Achievers in Excellence, offering the brightest pupils Saturday study at the University of Hull or the University of Lincolnshire and Humberside, with the offer of conditional student places for scheme graduates.

Kingston upon Hull City Council is committed to further initiatives promoting lifelong learning for all Hull residents. Innovation has always been a byword at the University of Hull, which has an international reputation for scientific research, including laser technology and robotics.
