In Year One we looked at a painting called Yellow Islands by the artist Jackson Pollock. To create the same effect we used a painting document in ClarisWorks and 'walked' our paintbrush around the paper. After this we used the Flood Fill tool to fill in white-space creating coloured islands.

In February Ainthorpe's PTFA organised a handwriting competition in three categories, Year 1 & 2, Year 3 & 4 and Year 5 & 6. All the entries were of a very high standard, and the judges found it very difficult to pick winners. The winning entries for each category are linked below.
