One of Britain's leading contemporary poets, Ian Duhig has long inspired a fervent and devoted following. Funny, startling, and clever, Duhig is also a master balladeer and storyteller who shows that poetry is still the most powerful way in which our social history can be celebrated.

Ian has written four books of poetry and has won many awards. His most recent book, The Lammas Hireling (Picador 2003), was a Poetry Book Society Choice and was short-listed for the Forward Prize and the T.S Eliot Prize. He lives in Leeds.

"Lively, bursting as ever with humour and irreverent witdeeply veined with thought and with tangible, recognisable emotional weight." The Guardian
