EICH Gallery, University of Lincoln, George Street, Hull - 7.00pm
Hull in Fiction: Christopher Peachment & Will Davenport
3/2 Tel 01482 223344

Two novelists discuss the role of the city of Hull in recent fiction. Christopher Peachment (The Green and the Gold) and Will Davenport (The Painter) have both recently published books which use the city as the backdrop to their fiction, and both novels feature fictional accounts of the life of Hull poet Andrew Marvell.

The authors will be in conversation with Local Studies Librarian David A. Smith, talking about how they researched their novels; the relationship between accuracy and imagination; their impressions of the city; and the previous neglect of Hull by contemporary novelists.

The George, Land of Green Ginger - 7.30pm
Rengade Writers: The Remedy
Free Tel 01482 500371

Hull's infamous Renegade Writers present The Remedy, a riotous evening of contemporary performance poetry and bad behaviour, interspersed with live accoustic music from Cracktown, Obi Wan and Pete Coulam, with very special guest Emma Rugg.

This show will almost certainly contain some strong language.

Live Art Space, Ferens Art Gallery - 7.30pm
Before Night Fell: Cassanidance
6/4 Box Office 01482 226655

An evening of breathtaking, original and risktaking dancetheatre presented by Beth Cassani. Wild Geese features three protagonists each on their own flight path but relentlessly distracted by each others bag of tricks; Before Night Fell is a duet for two lost men who throw logs at each other in a dangerous and exhausting endgame of bravery and bravado; Deepwater is an unnerving quartet - a game of tremendous risk as the stage becomes increasingly filled with precariously balanced wine bottles.

Described as 'vivid and intoxicating' (Sunday Herald) and 'free-spirited and exuberant' (The Times), Beth Cassani studied in London, New York and Amsterdam and has worked with repertory companies Adventures in Motion Pictures, DV8, Phoenix Dance Company, Ludus, and Scottish Dance Theatre.

'Here is a choreographer who knows precisely how to communicate her ideas, no matter how batty' (Sunday Herald)
